Maison Du Mezze Says No To Single Use Plastic

 In Uncategorized, What's On

Plastic is one of the world’s most pressing environmental issues, with around 8.5 billion plastic straws thrown away each year, potentially contributing to over 150 million tonnes of plastic in the world’s oceans. London itself throws away 2 billion straws per year, and is by far one the leading users of plastic straws within Europe. Shockingly, straws are used for around 20 minutes but take up to 500 years to break down, most ending up in landfills or the sea, causing serious environmental issues.

Maison Du Mezze has turned its back on single use plastic as it steps up in support of the #LastStraw campaign to eradicate single use plastic for good. Maison Du Mezze will now no longer be using plastic straws, instead replacing them with biodegradable alternatives. Maison Du Mezze are delighted to be supporting this campaign and hopes that customers are supportive and understanding in their decision.
